Job Summary:

Parkside Kia is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Used Car Technician with experience in Kia vehicles as well as other OEM makes and models. This individual must be detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to ensuring a high-quality, retail-ready preowned vehicle while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate must excel at preparing used vehicle inventory within a 4-day or less turnaround time while adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards. Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Inspections & Diagnostics: Perform thorough inspections on used vehicles to identify necessary repairs and reconditioning needs.

• Mechanical & Electrical Repairs: Execute expert-level repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems across multiple makes and models.

• Inventory Readiness: Ensure vehicles are frontline-ready within the 4-day or less target timeframe while maintaining dealership quality standards.

• Cost-Effective Solutions: Provide high-quality repairs while minimizing unnecessary expenses, prioritizing reconditioning efficiency.

• Collaboration: Work closely with service advisors, parts departments, and management to maintain workflow efficiency.

• Manufacturer Compliance: Follow Kia and other OEM guidelines for repairs, diagnostics, and service procedures.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.

• Quality Control: Conduct post-repair inspections to verify all work meets dealership and OEM standards.

• Tools & Equipment Maintenance: Properly use and maintain shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and other resources.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, with expertise in Kia vehicles and other OEMs.

• Certifications: ASE certifications preferred; Kia certification a plus.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnostics, electrical repairs, and mechanical work across various brands.

• Efficiency: Proven ability to complete high-quality repairs within strict time constraints.

• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills for diagnosing complex automotive issues.

• Team Player: Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced dealership environment.

• Valid Driver’s License: Required with a clean driving record.
