Parkview Animal Wellness is a Veterinary Hospital located in the heart of Scottsboro across from the Police station, in walking distance to King Caldwell Park. We are an established veterinary clinic that focuses on a low stress environment for our patients. We believe in empowering clients to make informed decisions about their pet's care.

Job descriptions
Veterinary Care Assistant (Level 1-3)- The Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA), is the comfort coordinator for the patient. The VCA is responsible for the comfort of patients during their visit and to help veterinary care technicians and veterinarians perform their duties in a comfortable manner for the patient and staff. The veterinary care assistant is the advocate and liaison for the patient prior to the visit, during the visit, and after the visit including maintaining clean treatment and care areas, greeting clients, patient restraint, and fear, anxiety, stress (FAS) scoring.
At this time, we are only considering applicants with experience in a veterinary assistant role.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures, using appropriate techniques.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinary team.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including animal enclosures and equipment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in care, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
Additional Information
*All employees must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and be able to stay on their feet for extended periods of time.
**All pay is commensurate with experience and ability to perform tasks as outlined in our employee handbook scale. Full-time employees will be eligible for a healthcare stipend and retirement matching after a probationary period as listed in the employee handbook. All employees will be eligible for vacation and sick days.
