Job Description: One-on-One Teacher/Aide
The One-on-One Teacher / Aide position entails providing personalized educational support to a single student throughout the day, ensuring adherence to the regulations set forth by the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) and the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). This role requires a deep commitment to fostering the academic, emotional, and social development of the student in a one-on-one setting.
Key Responsibilities:
One-on-One Teacher Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans based on the student's unique needs, abilities, and learning goals.
- Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate the student's learning style, pace, and preferences.
- Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment conducive to the student's academic and emotional growth.
- Utilize various instructional strategies, materials, and resources to engage the student and enhance learning outcomes.
- Monitor the student's progress regularly through assessments, observations, and ongoing feedback.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment between home and school environments.
- Maintain accurate records of the student's academic performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents as required by DCYF and WAC regulations.
- Implement behavior management techniques and interventions as necessary to address any behavioral challenges effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all DCYF and WAC regulations regarding child safety, welfare, and educational standards.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in special education, child development, and relevant regulations.
Teacher Aide Responsibilities:
- Assist in classrooms and on-site as needed, providing support to teachers and staff.
- Work interdependently with teachers and staff to facilitate the smooth operation of daily activities.
- Interact with children using developmentally appropriate practices, fostering positive relationships and promoting their social and emotional development.
- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility in fulfilling job responsibilities and adapting to changing needs.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff to create a supportive and inclusive community.
- Communicate professionally and efficiently with staff, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Deliverables:
- Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) tailored to the student's specific learning needs and goals.
- Progress reports detailing the student's academic achievements, behavioral developments, and areas for improvement.
- Documentation of assessments, observations, and interventions in accordance with DCYF and WAC guidelines.
- Collaboration with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to facilitate the student's overall well-being and academic success.
- Maintenance of a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment conducive to the student's growth and development.
- Assistance provided in classrooms and on-site, contributing to the effective functioning of educational programs and activities.
- Positive interactions with children, families, and staff, fostering a sense of community and cooperation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
