What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Paraprofessional position at PARKVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL?
The Cameron R-I School District is accepting applications for a preschool paraprofessional, effective immediately. Applicants should have 60 college hours and upload a copy of your transcripts with the application; or be willing to take and pass the MEGA assessment (Missouri Educator Gateway Assessment) for paraprofessionals or complete a required 20 hour substitute teacher training upon hire.
Job Description: The paraprofessional will assist the Early Childhood Teacher to achieve objectives by working with students and the teacher to assure students master age-appropriate skills to the best of their abilities. The assistant will support the teacher by reinforcing classroom rules and lessons taught and will model appropriate behaviors for students. Duties may include, but are not limited to: supervising arrival and departure; assist in student’s personal care, including changing diapers/pull-ups; assist in daily activities; assist in maintaining student records. The assistant will: enjoy working with young learners; promote a positive and pleasant atmosphere; use proper grammar and communication skills; possess the ability to work with a variety of individuals to include children, parents, district staff, and the public.
