3rd Grade Summer School Teacher

 

JOB TITLE: Summer School Teacher

REPORTS TO: Director of Learning and Summer School Principals

 

*The need for teachers will depend on enrollment of students and counts wont be final until Mid-May. 

*Monday-Friday 7:30-12:30 from June 2-18, 2025.

*Pay will be 45/hour. 

* Four possible positions available.

 

*This is for NLCS internal employees.* 

 

Certified Summer School Teachers mist have the follow, per Senate Enrolled Act 1 (2024) :Training in Science of Reading as determined by the IDOE; evidence of completion of at least 25 hours from the Early Literacy Endorsement Verified Professional Development Programs; evidence that the teacher is working toward earning the Early Literacy Endorsement. 

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Helps students to learn subject matter and skills which will lead toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. Directs and evaluates the learning experiences of the students in activities sponsored by the school.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Building Instructional Capacity

  • Maintain records as required by NLCS policy and state guidelines; maintain professional ethics.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Administers the classroom and its program of organization and management. Discipline and control should be maintained at all times with those whom the teacher is charged with supervising.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter.
  • Be prompt in arriving in and dismissing a class in conformity with school schedules, as well as reporting promptly to school and to any meetings called.
  • Approach subject matter in a positive and enthusiastic manner; present subject matter in a clam, self-confident, and poised manner.
  • Monitor student behavior and activities.
