We are seeking a highly skilled Coding Document Analyst and Educator to serve as a coding liaison within our organization. This role is responsible for providing analytical and educational support to the Coding Department, providers, and clinical operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Onboarding new providers and coders
- Delivering just-in-time education for providers and coding staff
- Conducting audits and reviewing denials
- Assessing and revising educational materials
- Establishing and promoting compliant documentation practices
- Creating and delivering presentations for diverse audiences
- Supporting and maintaining technological systems related to coding and compliance
This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate documentation, optimizing revenue cycle efficiency, and promoting compliance with regulatory standards.
Education & Certification Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology (RHIT) or a related healthcare field preferred
- Must hold one of the following credentials:
- AHIMA: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CDIP, or CCDS
- AAPC: CPC
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in coding, clinical documentation, compliance, auditing, or consulting
- Strong verbal, written, and computer communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Skilled in developing and delivering education plans for coders and clinical documentation specialists
- Excellent organizational and research abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across various levels of the health system
Work Environment
- Primarily remote, with occasional on-site attendance as necessary
