Summary
As part of the Environmental Services Department, this position will be responsible for exceeding service excellence expectations while performing environmental servicesrelated tasks to provide a clean and safe environment for all patients, family members, guests, healthcare team members, and other associates. Will work as part of a team or individually to clean office areas, exam rooms, public areas and rest rooms, ancillary areas, patient care rooms, and/or complete special projects as assigned while utilizing specialized equipment and chemicals. Ensure uniformand personal appearance are clean and professional and willbe expected to speak with others using clear and professional language. Mustfollow all departmental and hospital-wide policies and proceduresincluding standard operating procedures, work instructions, safety procedures, patient care procedures and patient privacy policies. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Positionis a "Working Lead" thatis responsible for the training of new department co-workers on departmental cleaning policies and procedures, and will be regularly assigned to participate in cleaning area assignments. Other duties include assisting with the ordering of linen and supplies, and taking short terminterim responsibilities in the absence of the Environmental Services Supervisor.
Education
High school diploma/GED preferred.
Experience
Previous healthcare, hospitality and/or leadership experience preferred.
Other Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age. Abilityto effectively communicate with co-workers, staff, patients, and visitors according to company standards. Must have advanced knowledge of cleaning and customer service skills. Mustbe detail oriented and have a willingness to follow procedures, perform repetitive tasks, and to work independently. Willingness to work rotating weekends and assigned holidayschedule.
Must be capable of utilizing computer-based programs to create, extract, and enter information applicable to daily time/work schedules and operational flow for the department, and demonstratesa general knowledge of The Joint Commission and Indiana Department of Health requirements. Must be able to climb and stand on ladders, lift 35 lbs. unassisted, 70 lbs. with assistance, and push up to 300 lbs.
