Qualifications for Physical Therapist

Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree if graduated prior to January 1, 2016.
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) required if graduated after January 1, 2016.
- International candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; DPT preferred.

Licensure and Certification:
- Must hold or be eligible for a Physical Therapist license in the state where services will be provided.
- State licensure must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
- CPR certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must maintain all required certifications and licensure as per expiration dates.

Preferred Membership:
- American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) membership is preferred.

Driving Requirements (if applicable):
- If assigned to drive a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license is required.
- If assigned to drive a personal vehicle, proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license are required.

Experience:
- Clinical experience within an educational training program required.
- Work experience preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds, and may need to push up to 300 pounds.

- Flexibility to work at other locations as assigned.
