What are the responsibilities and job description for the PPG Surgery Technician position at Parkview Health?
Summary
This position will assist the physician in the delivery of care as an assistant in office / hospital based surgical procedures. The surgery technician will arrive at the appropriate time to prepare the room, prepare instruments and after the case clean contaminated supplies and instruments as required.
Education
Must be a graduate of a surgical technologist program, or must provide evidence of employment as a surgical technologist prior to July 1, 2009.
Licensure/Certification
Must have a current certified surgical technologist certification or must provide evidence of employment as a surgical technologist prior to July 1, 2009, meeting current state, local and institutional requirements. Employee must have a current CPR certification. Completes 15 CEU credits annually, and provides proof of this to their leader.
Experience
One year of experience is preferred.
Other Qualifications
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and assist with 100 lbs.
