Speech-Language Pathologist Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications:
- Must hold a minimum of a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).

Licensure and Certification:
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state where services will be provided within 90 days of employment.
- Clinical Fellows (CFY) must hold a license as a Clinical Fellow in their Clinical Fellowship Year and be mentored by a state-licensed, ASHA-certified SLP employed by Parkview Health.
- CFY employees must obtain state licensure within 18 months of initiating the CFY.
- Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) if not in their CFY.
- CPR certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must maintain all certifications and licensure as required by expiration dates.

Driving Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required if assigned to drive a company vehicle.
- Proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license are required if using a personal vehicle for work purposes.

Work Experience:
- Work experience preferred but not required, aside from clinical experience gained during the educational training program.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds, and may be required to push up to 300 pounds.

Additional Requirements:
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be willing to work at other locations as assigned.
