Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Echocardiographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and providing critical diagnostic evaluations to assist in the assessment of patients' cardiac health. This role is essential in a fast-paced medical environment, particularly within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center, where precision and expertise are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Conduct echocardiographic examinations on patients, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate results.
- Monitor and record vital signs during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret diagnostic results and develop treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and sonography techniques to enhance patient care.
- Assist in cardiac catheterization procedures as needed, providing support to the medical team during emergencies.
- Stay updated on advancements in echocardiography technology and techniques to ensure best practices are followed.
Education
- Associates of Science degree in health care field and successful completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program
- Successful completion of a two year Echocardiogram training program;
- Eligible for on-site training by obtaining an Associates of Science in a health care field or Bachelor's degree in a health care related field with two years of cardiac related health care experience.
Licensure/Certification
- Must have current CPR certification.
- A valid license in Cardiac Ultrasound from the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
- Registry eligible and obtain valid certification within 12 months of hire
- Proficiency in performing echocardiograms with a strong understanding of cardiac physiology.
- Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is preferred.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and procedures related to cardiac care.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques and radiology principles.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining patient records.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
