Job Summary
The Assistant Chief Financial Officer will work closely with the CFO, including market or facility CEO and leadership, to manage the financial strategy and operations of the company. This role is pivotal in supporting the CFO in overseeing financial planning, reporting, and analysis, while also ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management.
The Assistant CFO will act as a key financial advisor, providing insights to drive business performance, and may step in to represent the CFO in key meetings or initiatives. This position is ideal for a highly experienced financial leader who is looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions

- Assist the CFO in developing and executing the company's financial strategy and ensuring alignment with broader corporate goals.
- Participate in financial forecasting, long-term planning, and analysis to provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Support the CFO in evaluating business expansion opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic investments.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SEC filings and quarterly/annual reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improving profitability and operational efficiency.
- Lead the development and management of annual budgets, working with department heads to align financial goals with business priorities.
- Provide regular updates and variance analysis on financial performance versus budget, including recommendations for corrective actions.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting processes to support informed decision-making.
- Assist in managing financial risks, including credit, market, operational, and liquidity risks.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and ensure that the organization adheres to financial regulations, such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Work closely with the internal audit function to identify and mitigate risks in financial processes.
- Support the CFO in managing the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing.
- Participate in financing activities, including the evaluation of capital projects, and assist in securing funding for business operations or growth initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members to ensure a high level of competence and engagement within the department.
- Foster a collaborative and performance-oriented environment within the finance team.
- Deputize for the CFO as required and represent the finance department in cross functional meetings and initiatives, acting as a trusted business partner to other senior leaders.

Qualifications
Education
- Degree in Accounting or Finance Highly Preferred
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and strong verbal, interpersonal, and quantitative skills developed through completion of this degree.
- CPA or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Experience
- ACFO-Level Experience: A minimum of 2 years working in Finance preferably in an acute-care hospital is required.
- Management Experience: Prefer at least 2 years of progressive management experience is required.
