Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Care: Provide personal care and physical support to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
- Daily Tasks: Support in organizing, cleaning, laundry, and meal assistance.
- Medication Management: Upon receiving certification, prepare and administer medications, and assist with medical treatments (following the nurse’s supervision).
- Documentation & Communication: Record and chart resident interactions, ensuring accurate documentation of care provided. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Resident Rights: Ensure that resident’s rights are respected and adhered to throughout all interactions and care processes.
- Team Support: Work collaboratively with team members to ensure all residents’ needs are met in a compassionate, timely manner.

- Must be at least 18 years old to obtain Medication Manager certification.
- Willingness to obtain Medication Manager certification (The Elms will enroll you if you have not completed the course).
- (Preferred) Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Iowa, though not required.
- Ability to engage tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
- Strong commitment to compassionate care and service to others.
- Prior direct care experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
