Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Wholesale Parts Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our wholesale parts department. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in the domestic automotive industry, with a strong background in parts management, customer relations, and inventory control. As the Wholesale Parts Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team, building relationships with wholesale customers, ensuring inventory accuracy, and driving sales growth for the parts department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wholesale Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale customers, including repair shops, body shops, and fleet operators. Ensure customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and quick resolutions to issues.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for wholesale demand. Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize shortages, overstocking, and dead stock.
- Sales and Profitability: Develop and execute strategies to increase wholesale parts sales. Monitor sales trends, pricing structures, and margin targets to ensure the department meets financial goals.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of parts advisors and support staff. Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure the team meets performance objectives and adheres to company policies and standards.
- Order Processing and Fulfillment: Ensure accurate and timely processing of wholesale orders, including product sourcing, pricing, and delivery coordination. Resolve any order discrepancies in a prompt manner.
- Supplier Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with parts vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, order fulfillment, and terms. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues with product quality or delivery delays.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and customer feedback. Use data and industry insights to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal regulations concerning parts distribution, safety, and business practices.
- Customer Support: Address customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally. Ensure parts are delivered in a timely manner and meet or exceed customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in the domestic automotive parts industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience with wholesale parts distribution is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of automotive parts and components, including aftermarket, OEM, and performance parts. Familiarity with automotive repair processes and terminology is essential.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team to meet sales goals and deliver excellent customer service.
- Sales & Negotiation Skills: Ability to identify new sales opportunities, negotiate pricing, and maintain profitability while meeting customer needs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with occasional evening and weekend shifts required, based on business needs.
- Work environment includes a mix of office and warehouse settings, with regular interaction with customers and vendors.
