Job Summary / Overview
The Roofing Technician works directly for the Assistant Superintendent of Roofing (RSA). This position is responsible for the proper preventative care and effective repair as directed by the RSA. The roofing technician is a highly visible position that may require daily interaction with residents and employees and requires the utmost awareness of how actions and communications are received and perceived.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, of the property’s BUR, MOD-BIT, Architectural shingle, and TPO systems.
- Performs repairs and preventive maintenance to expansion joints, coping, counter flashing, termination bars, and lap joints.
- Maintains and repairs gravel stops.
- Repairs and welds .60 Thermoplastic-Olyfen membrane onto existing surfaces
- Maintains and repairs gutters, gutter lap joints, Obdyke bracketing, downspouts / attachment hardware, and flex-pipe
- Maintains and seals metal edge deck flanges.
- Maintains, repairs, and replaces vent bases
- Works in tandem with the Construction, Utilities, Remediation, and other departments as directed
- Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of roofing department tools
- Competent and safe use of aerial lift and heavy equipment as trained.
- To ensure that monthly safety meetings are attended, all safety directives are followed, and PPE is consistently utilized as required / trained / directed
- Complies with Job Safety Assessments
- Maintains effective professional relationships with all levels of employees, residents, vendors, and contractors
- Performs other duties as assigned by the RSA
