Position Summary
As the Porter you will be responsible for a wide range of duties from daily maintenance, janitorial duties and customer service activities within multiple parking facilities. You may have customer and client interaction requiring a positive, helpful attitude. We strive to deliver a clean an inviting parking facility while also assisting customers at the parking gates if the need arises. Most of your time will be spent cleaning and maintaining the Parking Garage which includes broom and dustpan, mop and wiping down work. However, during peak hours, you may need to assist customers and ensure our parking gates are functioning correctly.
Schedule
This is a part-time position (30 hours or more each week). Schedule will be discussed with applicants when they are screened or interviewed. Schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
Position Requirements
- A valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Successful completion of a criminal and motor vehicle background check
- At least 18 years of age
Maintenance and Janitorial Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all parking equipment is functioning properly and perform necessary maintenance when needed.
- Ensure all tickets, receipts, and other supplies are stocked properly at each location.
- Inspect cleanliness of all parking equipment.
- Ensure all signage is in working order (clean on weekly basis or as needed).
- Ensure janitorial duties including but not limited to; trash pickup, sweeping, graffiti removal, and other cleaning relation items are done daily.
- Complete daily maintenance and cleaning checklist.
Auditing and Enforcement Duties and Responsibilities:
- Audit each designated parking lot/garage and check for violations.
- Issue citations to violators and follow detailed citation issuance protocol.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Due to the location of this garage, it is highly likely that you will have to nicely ask someone to leave the garage. At times the homeless population will attempt to sleep in this garage and we always treat them with respect and kindness, but ask them to leave. If they do not leave we simply call the authorities and ask for assistance.
- Greet every customer you encounter with warm and friendly greeting.
- Offer to assist every/any customer who appears to be in need of assistance.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with clients and work to establish a positive rapport with every customer – learn the names and key people at each site (property managers, engineers, janitorial, security, etc.)
- Report immediately to management any issues related to customer or client experience.
- This position requires the employee to have their own transportation so they can go from one location to the other; they are within a couple miles of each other.
- You will be asked from time to time to perform other duties not listed in this description. The expectation is that you are flexible and open-minded to these assignments.
