Overview
The Kitchen Manager is a leader who exemplifies Parlor values and upholds standards and policies. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for food service and ensures the food meets quality standards and is sent out on time. The Kitchen Manager observes food quality and also makes sure that all safety and sanitation rules are being followed in the kitchen. They are also responsible for kitchen inventory (and other inventory as delegated).
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Oversee the Kitchen Functions :
a. Must be fluent in making / finishing kitchen / food items;
b. Responsible for quality control of kitchen / food items;
c. Streamline the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service time;
d. Keep a clean, safe workplace;
e. Verify that staff in maintaining sanitation levels; and
f. Maintain kitchen equipment, ovens, and other equipment.
2. Provider leadership of Kitchen Team Members :
a. Train and develop Kitchen Team Members, including training on cross-contamination. precautions;
b. Supervise Kitchen Team Members;
c. Create a “team” environment; and
d. Uphold standards / policies, including dress code of Kitchen Team Members.
3. Manage inventory relating to kitchen and food items, etc. :
a. Submit needs to Shop Manager or designee;
b. Avoid the “We’re out” scenario;
c. Manage Kitchen finances by reducing waste; and
d. Order / purchase supplies needed from approved vendors.
4. Help in all areas of the store when needed.
5. Act as shift leader as applicable.
