Overview
The Shop Manager is a leader who exemplifies Parlor values and upholds standards and policies. The Shop Manager is responsible for hiring/developing staff, managing day-today operations, establishing a productive and efficient work atmosphere, and meeting financial/operational targets. To be successful in this role, the shop manager should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping other people develop and be productive, while ensuring shop profitability.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Cultivate Parlor’s mission and values.
2. Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure excellence, cleanliness, and quality.
3. Serve as point of contact with corporate staff and maintain lines of communication.
4. Hire staff and ensure training/development in accord with Parlor standards, including: a. Ensuring all employment-related paper/forms are completed on a timely basis. b. Set work schedules and verify timecards.
5. Supervise department managers, including regular meetings/communication.
6. Safeguard assets and ensure cash deposits are made in a timely fashion.
7. Work to reduce expenses, enhance productivity, and maximize profitability.
8. Manage shop to meet goals/targets for staffing, cost of goods sold, and waste.
9. Have an extensive knowledge of every area within the business, including: a. Working at least 35 hours/week in the various departments (in the schedule).
10. Ensure staff follows all policies/procedures as well as health & safety regulations.
11. Provide solutions to issues and seek opportunities for improvement.
12. Order/purchase supplies needed from approved vendors.
13. Oversee recruitment and training of new employees.
14. Create and foster a “team” working environment.
15. Maintain and manage professional character within the workplace.
16. Resolve conflicts and respond to team member & customers concerns.
