Parlor Doughnuts Shop Manager
Reports To: LLC Manager or Area Manager (if applicable)
The Shop Manager is a leader who exemplifies Parlor values and upholds standards and policies. The Shop Manager is responsible for hiring/developing staff, managing day-to- day IN SHOP operations, and establishing a productive and efficient work atmosphere. To be successful in this role, the Shop manager should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping other people develop and be productive, while ensuring shop profitability.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Cultivate Parlor’s mission and values
- Must be scheduled a minimum of 30 hours a week in store at various times and departments.
- 5 hours of admin work per week (scheduling, hiring/firing, communicating with staff, answering necessary emails).
- Shop manager is not responsible for onboarding, payroll, sales forecasting)
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure excellence, cleanliness, and quality.
- Uphold day to day expectations set by Parlor and ownership. Including but not limited to; quality control, cleanliness, customer service, product knowledge.
- Hire staff and ensure training/development in accord with Parlor standards, including:
- Ensuring all employment-related papers/forms are completed on a timely basis.
- Ensuring all onboarding documentation is emailed to RM. Ensure RM is completed with the onboarding process.
- Set work schedules and verify timecards.
- Ensure one manager/shift manager is on shift at all times
- Rotating weekends
- Implement and uphold necessary strike system
- Supervise Kitchen and Den manager, including regular communication.
- Safeguard assets and ensure cash deposits are made in a timely fashion.
- Note, record, and deposit cash twice a week to the bank.
- Upkeep spreadsheet noting all amounts of deposits.
- Ensure adequate change is in the safe and available for managers to get as needed.
- Keep deposits in a file in order by date
- Meet scheduling hours expectations provided by RM and work to minimize COGS expectations set by RM
- Have an extensive knowledge of every area within the business, including:
- KNOWLEDGE of all areas of the shop
- Ordering numbers
- Vendor contacts
- Ensure staff follows all policies/procedures as well as health & safety regulations.
- Provide solutions to issues and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Problem solving oriented

- Order/purchase supplies needed from approved vendors.
- Ensure orders are fulfilled
- Oversee recruitment and training of new employees.
- Planning for changes in seasons, levels of business, etc (ie. Spring Break, school out of session, slow season in Jan. & Feb.)
- Consultation if necessary with RM
- Create and foster a “team” working environment.
- Leader in all aspects

- Maintain and manage professional character within the workplace.
- Setting a professional standard for employees
- Assisting RM in business to business sales and transactions
- Resolve conflicts and respond to team members & customers' concerns.
- Ensure orders from vendors (manifests) are accurately fulfilled and on the truck.
- Can be done by other shift leads and DMs
- Following up with RM to reach out to vendors reps if the orders are not fulfilled, and ensure credits are received.
19. Equipment upkeep and maintenance
- Monitor equipment cleanliness and enforce routinely cleanings
- If equipment is malfunctioning, researching manuals and attempting to fix in house. If an issue is not fixed, action is taken through professional attention. Reach out to RM
- Biweekly deep clean of ovens, biweekly filtering doughnut grease, once a month fully changing grease out

Education and Experience
- Practical experience in various food service positions.
- Must obtain/maintain ServSafe® Manager or State certification.
- Customer service experience.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
