What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Manager position at Parma Care Center?
Reponsibilities:
Must be able to stand and walk intermittenly through out the day, reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry, manipulate various food products and dietary supplies and equipment.
Manager must have the ability to work with chemicals/cleaning agents and able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.
Duties(determined by the facility needs and may include, but are not limited to the following):
food purchase, production and timely service of meals
directs and supervise all dietary functions and personnel.
purchase food products from vendors approved by Progressive Quality Care.
Maintain cost records and work to meet budget guidelines
Hire, orient, train, counsel, discipline, and when appropriate, terminate dietary employees
Schedule work hours and assignments along with reviewing and checking staff work performance. Responsible for properly staffing per shift needs.
Develop job descriptions, cleaning schedules and other dietary tools. Check all inventory for incoming and outgoing of all food and supplies
Process new diet orders and any changes when received by the nurse. Keep diet cards updated
Plan and assist with preparation and service of holiday and special meals and functions. Visits residents to do initial nutritional assessments and screening, explain diet, record foor preferences and promote quality food service.
