The Aquatic Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting other aquatics maintenance team members in the modification, repair, and refurbishment of waterpark attractions and facilities. This is an entry-level maintenance position that focuses on developing skills in the areas of preventative maintenance, ride testing, adjusting controls, assisting in diagnosing and resolving issues, and ensuring proper water quality.

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily pre-opening inspections of waterslides and pools to ensure there are no safety or performance issues.
• Shadow more experienced aquatics team members to learn and develop key skills related to waterpark maintenance
• Ensure that all pools are chemically balanced for operation according to codes and
  
  

standards set by state and local Health Department and park management

• Assist with diagnosing and correcting mechanical issues.
• Respond to trouble calls with a sense of urgency.
• Maintain the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner.
• Perform repairs and service as directed by the manufacturers’ requirements and specifications.
• Assist with preventative maintenance efforts throughout all park facilities
• Assist with the scheduling, repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
• Utilize the proper PPE, depending on the nature of the job.
• Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner
• Complete repair work orders in a timely manner.
• All other duties assigned by leadership.
  
  

Education And Experience

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
• 1 years previous work experience in maintenance or mechanics preferred.
• 1 years previous work experience at a waterpark, swimming pool, or other aquatics-related facility is a plus
  
  

Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
• Must possess a general practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and carpentry; knowledge of pumps and motors a plus
• Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Familiarity and experience with fiberglass and other water slide structures a plus
• Familiarity with state and local codes as they relate to Aquatics attractions
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods of time
• Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday
• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more
• Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts
• Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
• Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
• Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
  
  

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to water and pool cleaning chemicals
• Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
• Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases
• Subject to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE is required in these situations.
• Subject to working at heights greater than 100 feet
