The Guest Experience Supervisor - Lodging assists in supervising the front desk operations and staff. This position enforces policies and procedures and establishes a positive work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Guest Experience Supervisor - Lodging assists in supervising the front desk operations and staff. This position enforces policies and procedures and establishes a positive work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform all duties of a Guest Experience Agent
  • Acts as a coach and mentor to other less experienced front desk employees
  • Ensures that all guest experience team members are consistently following all policies and procedures outlined for the front desk
  • Supervises the front desk team and front desk operations
  • Assists in training of new team members
  • Assists with timekeeping for hourly guest experience team members, as needed
  • Greets and interacts with guests in a warm, friendly, fun, and professional manner
  • Uses property management system to make reservations, check in and checkout guests, process payments, maintain a cash drawer and operate office equipment.
  • Operates internal communication devices (e.g. PBX switchboard) in an efficient and professional manner while answering and transferring calls
  • Provides highest level of service by anticipating, listening attentively, and promptly responding to guest requests and complaints
  • Quickly and expertly responds to guest issues with resolutions that may require “thinking outside the box”
  • Partners with housekeeping and/or maintenance to ensure guest requests and complaints are resolved
  • Performs office tasks such as answering the phones, scanning, copying, typing and printing
  • Maintains the front desk area clean and neat by sanitizing surfaces and office equipment
  • Assists in maintaining quality standards by investigating complaints and initiating corrective action
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the property
  • Complies with all standard operating procedures
  • Accurately documents the overnight shift happenings and updates lodging leadership on a regular basis
  • Maintains knowledge of how to sell and create season passes for parks
  • Provides guests with insightful information about other nearby parks and properties
  • Informs guests of events and activities that may be occurring during their visit
  • Promptly reports any maintenance issues to the appropriate authorities
  • Cooperates with other departments to provide a positive guest experience
  • Monitors the building and responds to emergencies as needed
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by lodging leadership

Problem Solving/Analysis: Define problems, research and collect data, draw valid conclusions and execute remedial strategies in a timely manner

Project Management: Understand and manage projects from concept to completion. Develop and achieve strategic objectives, plans and time schedules; organize and manage competing priorities, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to detail

Executive Presence: Represent the Company well internally and externally; convey a professional and positive image of the organization and business affiliates

Flexibility: Handle multiple priorities simultaneously; maintain a flexible work schedule to meet changing demands for multiple concurrent projects

Initiative and Adaptability: Take initiative and execute plans to accomplish strategic objectives in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Computer Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)

Education And Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
  • 1 year of previous hospitality or front desk experience required
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus

Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
  • Ability to comply with all uniform policies
  • Ability to portray a positive, outgoing, professional attitude
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to handle Point of Sale (POS) and/or other cash handling equipment
  • Ability to handle pressure with poise and finesse
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and follow up
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to operate computer and office equipment
  • Desire to contribute to a supportive and effective team
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to be patient and creatively problem solve

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit or walk for extended periods of time, on occasion
  • Ability to occasionally kneel, stoop, or twist
  • Ability to occasionally bend, squat and reach above shoulders
  • Ability to stand or remain seated and use computer for several hours of the workday
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • This role will primarily be based in an indoor lodging or office environment
  • Some sedentary motion, while standing or sitting to use computer
  • Subject to constant repetitive motion
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reprioritize activities

Internal: Guest Experience team members and leadership; Housekeeping team members; Maintenance team members; Other departments throughout the hotel; Lodging Manager

External: Arriving and departing guests; Prospective guests; Vendors; Contractors; Third-Party Service Providers
