Supervisory Duties
- Assist with the daily supervision of the Retail and Rentals team and any other assigned departments
- Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Noah’s Ark core values
- Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all retail and rental positions and backfill these positions when needed
- Assist with onboarding and training team members on how to safely and successfully perform their jobs
- Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with Wisconsin law
- Ensure daily sign-in sheets are completed and submitted each day
- Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities
- Welcome and greet all guests as they enter retail locations
- Perform opening and closing procedures of assigned unit(s) including daily cleanup.
- Manage inventory levels by completing daily stocking of all gift shops, checking orders, and moving inventory from other shops
- Ensure a variety of items are available for guests to purchase and that store shelves are fully stocked
- Proactively communicate inventory needs to Retail Manager before items are sold out
- Collaborate with Retail Manager to merchandise stores and improve product sales
- Ensure employees are adhering to departmental and company policies (theft of merchandise/counterfeit training/etc.)
- Monitors cashier activities to ensure continuous accuracy and compliance with POS procedures.
- Ensure merchandise and retail supplies are well stocked and organized
- Maximize unit visual merchandising standards.
- Maintains cleanliness of store areas including exteriors.
- Manages inventory, focusing on stock par levels, shrink and waste controls.
- Be on alert for possible theft
- Reports maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager in a timely manner
- All other duties assigned by leadership
- No education required
- 1 years of previous retail, point of sale, and/or supervisor experience is desired.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age to comply with Wisconsin Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfaction
- Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plus
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
- Ability to use a step ladder in a safe and proper manner
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more
- This role will be based in one or more retail locations throughout the park, with exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments
- Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, pollen and other weather conditions
- Some exposure to dust and chemical cleaning agents
- Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
