Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the Maintenance and Landscaping team
- Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Sea Life Park’s core values
- Manage and control all financial aspects of assigned departments while maximizing revenue and cost savings opportunities; maintain constant vigilance over departmental spending and budgets
- Act as a strategic visionary to implement measures that will favorably impact process, people, and/or profit
- Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests.
- Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all maintenance positions and backfill these positions when needed
- Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.
- Oversee the maintenance of the physical property to ensure safe operations and minimal downtime and good appearance at the lowest possible cost
- Reviews job ordered to determine work priorities.
- Directs and coordinates activities of Team Members engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment of building, and grounds.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Conduct daily and frequent site inspections to ensure that the maintenance department meets the highest possible standards of safety, courtesy, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Coordinate new projects and acts as project manager, when needed.
- All other duties assigned by leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other appropriate field highly desired; Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- 5 years of previous work experience in an Aquatics, Water Park, or Theme Park operation, managing maintenance
- 2-3 years of progressive supervisory or management of a maintenance team
- Previous Project Management work experience highly desired
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and regulations
Requirements
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
- Must possess a strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, carpentry, pumps, and motors
- Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods of time
- Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer
- Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more
- Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts
- Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
- Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
- Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
- This role will be based in both an office setting as well as outdoor Park environment
- Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
- Frequent exposure to water and pool cleaning chemicals
- Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, and other weather conditions
- Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases
- Subject to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE is required in these situations.
- Subject to working at heights greater than 100 feet
