Slide Attendants are responsible for supervising, monitoring, and attending to park attractions, including boarding, securing passengers, starting attractions, and ensuring passengers exit safely.
Slide Attendants are required to have good communication skills and provide great continual customer service. They will direct guests on the proper riding positions and safety for the various rides in the park. Slide Attendants must be able to stand or walk for long periods and be in various depths of water (ranging from ankle deep to waist deep) for 30 minutes to an hour throughout the duration of their shift.

Roles & Responsibilities
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, assist with questions, and provide an engaging customer experience.
- Positive interactions with guests to ensure that they receive quality service
- Enforce all height and weight rules as they pertain to each attraction
- Tactfully dealing with guests who do not meet ride restrictions
- Operate aquatics attractions (e.g. waterslide) in a safe manner.
- Supervise attractions at all times and ensure all policies, procedures, and safety protocols are being followed
- Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests.
- Respond to and escalate medical emergencies in a timely and professional manner
- Provide CPR and/or First Aid during emergency situations, as needed
- Adhere to Ellis & Associates Standards and Guidelines as they apply to North Carolina
- Participate in park clean up, including but not limited to picking up trash, straightening chairs, cleaning pools, stacking tubes, wiping tables, and pressure washing
- All other duties assigned by leadership
- No education requirements for this position
- Previous work experience is not required
- All Aquatics/Slide attendants are required to pass a 1-day Ellis and Associates Health Care Provider Basic Life support and Standard First Aid course (training provided by company)
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age to comply with North Carolina Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must possess safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all Federal, State, and local regulations regarding aquatics safety standards
- Ability to multi-task in an efficient manner, to ensure exceptional customer service
- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions
- Must be guest-focused and work well with other team members and supervisors
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to swim, wade, and stand (sometimes in moderate currents)
- Ability to frequently kneel, stoop, bend, squat, twist or reach above shoulder-level
- Ability to use hands to grasp, finger, handle, or feel
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Continuous exposure to outdoor aquatics environments
- Continuous exposure to variable outside temperatures, including high heat, direct sun, cold, humidity, dust, rain, and other weather conditions
- Regularly subjected to water and pool chemicals
- Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
