Job title: Forklift Operator
Pay: Starting at $19.48 to $24 an hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am to 2:30pm
Location: Redmond, Oregon
The Forklift Operator supports our Mission of Legendary Service Through Teamwork by safely and efficiently unloading trucks and stocking inventory throughout the facility. Accurately checking in inventory as it arrives is a key component to this position.
The Forklift Operator directly reports to the Production Manager. They interact daily with Yard Inventory Specialist, Shop Foreman, Purchasing, Truck Drivers, Production Team, and Delivery persons.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- OSHA Certified Forklift License
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials
- Ability to read and interpret "pick tickets" and invoices
- Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy work environment
- Class C driver's license or reliable alternative transportation
- Acceptable driving record preferred
- Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, made of leather or composite material, and have ankle support required
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read SKUs and identifies material types to accurately check in deliveries
- Load and off-load vendor trucks with building materials both by hand and with a forklift
- Put stock away
- Tag loads
- Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by depositing inventory in designated locations
- Keep forklift clean
- Ensure that appropriate paper work is completed per company policy
- Check all paperwork for accuracy
- Maintain yard cleanliness during course of work
- Perform other related duties as assigned
This position works in a warehouse in all weather conditions. The working days are Monday-Friday, plus Saturdays as needed. Hours and schedule may change based on workload and season.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
- Ability to cover different shifts when necessary
