Job Purpose
The Clean Up position is responsible for providing legendary service by safely and efficiently loading customer vehicles with building materials. Clean Up is also responsible for keeping the yards clean and stocking inventory. Located out of our Vancouver, Washington lumberyard.
This position reports to the Yard Manager and works closely with external and internal customers.
Starting at $17 to $19 depending on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain yard, warehouse, and store cleanliness.
- Run out into the yard with a smile to greet customer
- Safely and efficiently load customer vehicles with orders of building materials
- Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy
- Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by depositing inventory in designated locations
- Check all paperwork for accuracy
- Perform daily safety audit of forklift and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment
- Promptly report all accidents/incidents
- As time allows and when needed, load and off-load delivery trucks both by hand and with a forklift
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent helpful
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, practices and protocols
- Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials helpful
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work amidst a busy work environment

Working Conditions
This position works outside in a retail lumberyard location in all weather conditions. The typical working days are rotating Mon-Sat and the hours fall between 6 am and 5 pm with extra hours as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pass pre-placement physical and physical capacities examination
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stoop, bend, walk and effectively communicate at levels normal for someone performing work with the general public primarily in a retail sales environment. Communication forms can include but are not limited to: in-person verbal and non-verbal, written and telephone
