Job Description :
Parsons is seeking an amazing talented, experienced Software Developer / Engineer whose role will be essential to the design, implementation, and delivery of high performance, secure, mission critical solutions. We seek an engineer that is versatile, display leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic to tackle new challenges as we continue to provide the military with cutting edge tools. For this position, the Software Engineer will architect, analyze, design, and implement advanced capabilities for fire control systems at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The role includes design and implementation of software modules for new fire control systems based on established requirements, with strong consideration for interoperability and software architecture openness.
What you’ll be doing :
Architecture, design, development and test of software modules for U.S. Army tactical fire control systems in an Agile development environment
Lead software feature teams
Requirements analysis and traceability
Software configuration management using Git or similar tools
Support periodic design reviews
Support Agile sprint planning activities
Authoring design, interface, and user documentation
What required skills you’ll bring :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
10 years of experience in software engineering
Experience developing in :
Software Architecture, especially of Microservices
Microservices implementation (Kubernetes, Docker, Spring Boot, containerization)
C Java
JavaScript
Test software / test frameworks
Algorithms
Experience with Development, Build and Configuration tools for example the Atlassian toolset (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Confluence)
Understanding of, and experience working within, Agile Software Development
Excellent organizational, communications, problem-solving and people skills, be a self-starter, and enjoy being part of, leading, and contributing to a hard-working team.
Must have the ability to quickly learn and creatively leverage new technologies.
Technical leadership and team leadership experience
Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. While a security clearance is not required, it may be in the future so candidates should have or have held a clearance or be clearable
Must be able to travel. Anticipated travel level 5%-10%.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring :
Software development lifecycle experience (SDLC), especially within the DoD
Experience with DevSecOps
Experience with Government standards and procedures
Experience with or knowledge of U.S. Army fire control systems and / or command and control systems
Experience migrating legacy applications to modern frameworks
Experience with Software Safety identification and mitigation of potential safety risks in software design and implementation
Masters of Science in Software Engineering and / or Computer Science is a plus

Salary Range :
120,800.00 - $217,400.00
