Mental Health Family and Community Support Associate
Position Overview
Join our mental health team as a Mental Health Family and Community Support Associate providing vital support services to children and adults. This position combines Family Peer Support, Community Support Associate (CSA) responsibilities, and assistance with Intensive Outpatient programs.
Hours & Location
- Guaranteed 30 hours per week
- Flexible schedule with required availability during peak client needs
- Must be available weekdays from 3:00-5:30 PM (after-school hours)
- Based at our Berea office (208 Kidd Drive) with mobile services to client homes
- Serving Madison County and surrounding areas
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside Targeted Case Managers to improve client resources and support
- Provide Family Peer Support services meeting Kentucky state requirements
- Assist with Intensive Outpatient Services groups
- Support clients in both office and home settings
- Help clients develop coping skills and access community resources
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records
- Community Outreach
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have one year experience working with clients in a mental health setting
- Certification in or eligibility to become certified as a KY Family Peer Support Specialist
- Must meet Kentucky state requirements for Family Peer Support and Community Support (KRS)
- Must reside in Jefferson County, Kentucky
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a treatment team
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Be a self-identified parent or other family member who has lived experience with a client who has received services related to a mental health, substance use, or co-occurring mental health and substance use disability from at least 1 child serving agency
- Have successfully completed a KFLA training approved by the department
- Successfully complete a KFPSS core competency training approved by the department or receive a training waiver for this requirement in accordance with Section 5 of this administrative regulation
