Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a Roadway / Bridge Inspector for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) work in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
In this role, you'll perform field inspections of major Roadway and Bridge projects.
What you'll be doing:
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Perform field inspection of contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Perform material sampling and testing.
- Prepare daily reports to document contractor work operations.
- Field measure installed quantities and perform supporting standard mathematical calculations.
- Enter daily reports and material sampling and testing results in web-based databases (PrC and Material Acceptance and Certification [MAC] database).
- Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress.
- Perform other tasks to support the Senior Project Engineer and/ or Project Administrator.
What required skills and experience you'll bring:
- 2-year degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required. Also requires 3-5 years of related experience on field projects
- Candidate should possess or be able to obtain required FDOT CTQP certificates and Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (MOT) certification within 6 months. This position may require frequent and recurring construction inspections, which includes walking, climbing, stooping and bending at various elevations and uneven terrain.
What preferred skills and experience you'll bring:
- Prior experience supporting FDOT Infrastructure projects is preferred.
