What You'll Work On
As a Staff Backend Software Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and building the core backend systems that support all post-bind aspects of our insurance business. This includes claims processing, policy administration, and integrations with various enterprise systems. You will work on critical APIs and data pipelines that connect and streamline internal applications, third-party platforms, and external customer and partner integrations.
In this role, you will help untangle complex system architectures, integrating and optimizing workflows across multiple platforms and establishing robust connections to other essential systems. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and scalability of our post-bind operations.
You will collaborate closely with an experienced cross-functional team, including product management, data engineering, design, and software engineering, to deliver scalable, well-architected solutions that enhance our insurance operations.

What we're looking for:
Market competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range of $190,000-$210,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills.

- Design, build, and optimize backend APIs and data pipelines that power claims processing, policy administration, and enterprise integrations
- Collaborate with existing CRM and financial systems to develop scalable solutions that are deeply integrated
- Architect and implement integration with internal and external claims systems to streamline claims processing workflows
- Work with various enterprise systems to create seamless post-bind processes, ensuring interoperability and efficiency
- Develop and maintain backend services that support data-driven decision-making and automation across the organization
- Partner with product, design, and data teams to translate complex business needs into technical solutions
- Improve system reliability, scalability, and security through well-architected solutions and best practices
- Mentor and collaborate with other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning

What we're looking for:
- 8 years of backend engineering experience
- Experience with backend and API architectural best practices
- Experience developing within AWS or other cloud providers
- Comfortable in fast-paced environment with Agile values
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working within the supply chain and logistics industry
- Experience building customer or partner-facing API solutions
- Experience working within the insurance industry
