Parterre Garden Services, one of Greater Boston’s leading horticultural services and fine gardening companies, is searching for an eager individual with a passion for ongoing learning in the green industry. We maintain some of the most highly regarded landscapes in the area and are trusted as the experts in our field. Our clients appreciate our knowledge, craft, and professionalism in all aspects of horticulture.
The successful Fine Gardener/Horticulturist at Parterre is dedicated to providing expert green industry services throughout Greater Boston. As such, you will have the opportunity to consistently learn and hone your skills with practical experience as well as through in-house training and lectures.
While our offices are located in Billerica, you will be expected to travel to our clients in Belmont, Boston, Cambridge, Dedham, Dover, Lexington, Newton, Wellesley, Weston, Winchester, among others.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine garden maintenance, including weeding, mulching, and fertilizing
- Perform precise planting, pruning, and transplanting
- Seasonal container planting and maintenance
- Learn to recognize the landscape and what its maintenance needs are
- Provide clear, concise reporting to Field Managers and Crew Leads
- Learn to recognize pest and plant diseases
- Identify and problem solve landscape issues and communicate concerns
- Sense of ownership in your work
- Collaborate with others at Parterre, constant desire to learn and share knowledge
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors, trees, plants, and garden spaces
- Desire to learn about plants, horticulture, and best garden practices.
- Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail
- Current MA driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift 40 pounds and work outdoors all day in varying weather conditions
- Background in art and design, while not required, is appreciated

This is a full-time, seasonal position (March-December). Applicants may be considered for either 4-day, 32-hours/week or 5-day, 40-hours/week positions. We may request additional Saturdays during busy times of the year.
