What You’ll Do

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Account Management and Partnerships Director to lead and grow relationships with education sector clients. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor and leader, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and growth. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership, and a passion for education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Establish and maintain relationships with school districts, administrators, school principals, and other education leaders to retain existing accounts and acquire new accounts.
  • Client Advocacy: Act as an internal champion for customers, sharing client feedback with product development and implementation teams, and evaluating risks affecting business relationships.
  • Sales Growth: Retain and grow sales partnerships with assigned accounts by monitoring service levels, managing client satisfaction, and upselling additional products and services.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth within existing accounts, particularly in Virginia, and leverage existing networks to open new accounts nationwide.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Marketing, Finance, Legal, Teacher Experience, and Education Programs to coordinate interactions and ensure smooth transitions from sales to implementation.
  • Revenue Generation: Develop proposals, budgets, and customized sales strategies for potential clients or upsells, and track a pipeline of qualified leads through the buying process until deals are closed.
  • Networking and Brand Ambassadorship: Support networking efforts, represent Participate Learning at conferences and events, and seek potential partnerships with like-minded organizations.
  • Leadership: Collaborate with Participate Learning leadership to develop annual sales strategy, objectives, and key performance indicators.

Requirements

Experience You Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Education Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of client services work in the K-12 education market preferred. Former K-12 classroom experience in public school districts is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and in an informed, credible manner.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain relationships with educators, community stakeholders, and school administrators.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven track record of identifying opportunities, negotiating deals, and closing sales.
  • Leadership: Strong planning, problem-solving, influencing, and organizational skills to lead teams and achieve company objectives.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with CRM software like Salesforce for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on activities.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to visit and develop key accounts.
  • Based in Virginia (preferred, but not required)
  • Location: This is a fully remote job but being in the Virginia area a plus
