SUMMARY
Partner Engineering & Science, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Assessor for our growing environmental, health, and safety team (EHS) in South Florida. This position would be part of a very skilled team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads providing support for site investigation, regulatory compliance, industrial hygiene, remediation, and due diligence projects. We are looking for an EHS professional with 3 - 5 years of experience who is an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a high-performing team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- Support environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance-related projects in the field and office;
- Performance of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs);
- Perform a variety of fieldwork including, but not limited to:
- Installation and sampling of soil borings, soil vapor probes, and groundwater monitoring wells;
- Scheduling and oversight of excavation, drilling, and construction subcontractors;
- Use of electronic records collection methods for field efforts; and
- Assessing built environments for asbestos, mold and moisture intrusion, and hazardous materials.
- Drafting environmental reports;
- Support management of complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality;
- Assist during proposal development including preparation of work scopes and budgets;
- Travel regionally and state-wide on short and long-term assignments. Travel can range from 25% to 50% of the position, depending on the time of year and type of project; and
- Collaborate and interact with colleagues, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Geology, Industrial Hygiene or related field from an accredited university and 3 - 5 years of experience;
- Experience conducting Phase I and II ESAs, industrial hygiene inspections;
- Excellent attitude and ability to work well within a team environment;
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and computer skills;
- Must have a sense of urgency, be self-motivated, and can prioritize tasks;
- Ability to work efficiently under multiple deadlines and changing priorities;
- Ability to manage time independently and to work effectively on a project team;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Valid driver’s license; and
- Ability (with training) and willingness to perform and manage fieldwork (construction oversight, drilling oversight, soil/groundwater sampling, etc.) for over 50% of the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the minimum requirements above, the qualifications below are highly desired but not required:
- OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification;
- Knowledge of and experience with State of Florida environmental regulations;
- Willingness to obtain licensure when eligible; and
- Additional training and certifications related to the EHS field are desirable and should be noted (e.g., Certified Asbestos Inspector, etc.).

- Must be able to read, write, speak & comprehend English
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift
