Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking an experienced full-time Certified Industrial Hygienist to serve as a Technical Director in our Torrance, CA location for our nationwide Industrial Hygiene Department. The ideal candidate will be a CIH with 10 years of experience. This senior position will work hand and hand with our national staff including other CIHs and CSPs.
The primary role of this position will be to help grow our CA Industrial Hygiene and Health & Safety operations. As part of this role, you will work with existing clients and aid in the development of new clients by working with our sales team. This will include participating in client meetings, attending shows and conferences, and other marketing and technical events. Furthermore, the applicant’s expertise will be utilized in technical writing, teaching, and mentoring.
It should be noted that Partner would consider the purchase of a small company to facilitate the growth of our IH/H&S group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & TASKS
- Contacts Clients and schedules studies.
- Writes and reviews technical reports.
- Plans executes, and finalizes projects per deadlines and within budget.
- Mentor and train junior staff.
- Able to travel in state 25% of the time.
- Able to travel out of the state 10-20% of the time.
- Provide technical assistance on complicated industrial hygiene and health & safety projects.
- Develop proposals for complicated industrial hygiene and health & safety projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates with clients and team members throughout the term of the project.
- Plans, schedules, and tracks project timelines to ensure project progress is on schedule.
- Provides solid recommendations and solutions to clients.
- Identify and resolve issues with projects.
- Deliver appropriate recommendations to Clients.
- Advising and collaborating with management to resolve potential occupational health issues.
- Creating and executing studies to monitor and assess employees' exposure to health risks, and to measure the effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies, and procedures.
- Assessing and analyzing research data, summarizing statistics, and compiling reports.
- Proposing and leading the implementation of programs to protect employee health and implement ergonomics.
- Conducting regular audits of programs.
- Implementing corrective actions and suspending operations, if required.
- Maintaining current knowledge of occupational industrial hygiene, current certifications, as well as health and safety legislation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Ability to work on several projects concurrently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Industrial Hygienist required.
Asbestos Inspector - Preferred
Lead Risk Assessor - Preferred.
Experience: 10 years relevant experience required.
Experience in performing asbestos, lead, radon, IAQ, employee exposure evaluations and other IH disciplines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Communications: Must be able to read, write, speak & comprehend English.
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
Physical: May requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift. Requires manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform manual responsibilities.

Compensation:
This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role $115,000 to $140,000.
The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note, the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to individual and organizational performance.
