SUMMARY
We are seeking a personable, detail-oriented, and organized hospitality or real estate professional who has a passion for both people and numbers. Building upon an understanding of the commercial real estate industry, the day-to-day role would involve independently conducting thorough research and financial analysis for various types of property assets. Specifically, the analyst will conduct research and interviews to understand the local market, conduct a supply and demand analysis, prepare revenue and expense forecasts, and use models to derive a value under supervision. The analyst will also maintain the property database with sale and lease comparables, as well as help prepare appraisal reports with assistance from senior valuation professionals.
RESPONSABILITIES AND DUTIES
- Perform in-depth market analysis and valuation of commercial real estate properties, using industry-standard methods (such as the Sales Comparison, Income Capitalization, and Cost Approaches).
- Analyze and interpret economic trends, local market conditions, and property-specific data to assess value.
- Prepare detailed, clear, and well-organized appraisal reports that comply with applicable standards, including USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice).
- Collect and analyze property data, including financial statements, lease agreements, sales comparables, and market data to estimate market value.
- Manage and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Conduct site visits and property inspections to assess physical condition and gather relevant data for valuations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license (or ability to obtain).
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial real estate appraisal.
- Strong knowledge of real estate valuation methods, market analysis, and property-specific data.
- Familiarity with appraisal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to travel to asset tours
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone and via emails
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
