MISSION STATEMENT:

Partners Behavioral Healthcare finds and restores individuals struggling with substance use and mental health disorders.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Psychologist will provide expert psychological consultation, assessments, and interventions to support the treatment of clients within a 245I certified mental health clinic. The psychologist will actively participate in weekly clinical team meetings, provide recommendations on client diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress, and collaborate with staff to ensure the highest standards of care in compliance with 245I regulations. This role will be needed for approximately 4-6 hours per month, initially. This role will act as a consultant for required mental health consultations and staff meetings once per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinical Psychologist will attend and actively participate in clinical team meetings, providing psychological consultation and recommendations on client diagnoses, treatment planning, and progress monitoring. The psychologist will collaborate with clinical staff to ensure compliance with 245I standards and ensure that mental health care practices are aligned with current evidence-based approaches. Additionally, they will assist in the development and review of treatment strategies, provide education and supervision to staff on psychological issues, and ensure that clinic protocols meet state regulations and best practice standards. The psychologist will monitor the effectiveness of psychological interventions, document clinical assessments, and offer recommendations for improvements as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Actively participate in clinical team meetings (virtual or on-site).
  • Provide psychiatric consultation to the clinical team on diagnoses, treatment plans, and client progress.
  • Offer guidance on therapeutic interventions, especially for complex cases.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure compliance with 245I standards and evidence-based mental health practices.
  • Assist in the development and review of treatment strategies for clients with co-occurring disorders, mental health, and substance use disorders.
  • Ensure psychiatric protocols meet state regulations and align with best practice standards.
  • Provide education and supervision on psychiatric issues to clinical staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of psychiatric care, offering recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated on psychiatric advancements and integrate them into the clinic's practices.
  • Support staff with complex case consultations and guidance on mental health issues.

  • Ability to be punctual, manage time and rearrange schedule, as necessary.
  • Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to be flexible.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities and projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate one-on-one and in group settings.
  • Takes initiative in problem-solving and programming improvements.
  • Knowledge of industry players and/or Addiction/mental health treatment & the territory.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to work without close supervision and take initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of program philosophy and policies and procedures, 245G, 245A, 245I, MDH and all other associated requirements, house operations, including client rights and confidentiality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of Minnesota upon hire.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, psychometric assessments, and the treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experience working in clinical settings, preferably with compliance to 245I standards or similar regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining ethical standards, client confidentiality, and professionalism in all client interactions.
CONTINUED EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
  • Attend any mandatory staff meetings and training courses.
  • Remain up to date with all current PBH policies and procedures.
  • Maintain licensure as a clinical psychologist in the state of Minnesota.
