This position will be responsible for taking the lead related to Behavioral Health Consultation support for self-advocates, teams and families. Within this role the consultant will increase competency and capacity of behavioral health care in the community by offering support to all identified stakeholders. The Senior Behavioral Health Consultant will serve as a knowledge base of best practices within the field to optimize everyday life of those with intellectual disabilities and autism through education, technical assistance and collaboration.

Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for taking the lead related to Behavioral Health Consultation support for self-advocates, teams and families. The Senior Behavioral Health Consultant will serve as a knowledge base of best practices within the field to optimize everyday life of those with intellectual disabilities and autism through education, technical assistance and collaboration.
- Assist in developing and implementing training which will increase competency and capacity of behavioral health care in the community setting
- Complete Intensive Technical Assistance as assigned throughout nine counties. Milestone HCQU West covers the following counties Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer and Venango
- Quarterly update of regional behavioral health activities and resources at Management Oversight Committee
- Assist with the review of behavioral and health practices and policy development in areas defined by the lead County and Managed Care Organization (MCO)
- Coordinate review of behavior health-related risk management processes
- Analyze aggregate health patterns and trends with State, Regional, and other HCQU staff
- Assist in the development of behavioral health related outcomes to measure the effectiveness
- Develop relationships and assist in the creation of structures and processes to maximize benefits available from Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) / Behavioral Health Organizations (BHO) and other community behavioral health resources.
- Advocacy, referral and facilitation of access to individualized needs-based behavioral health care
- Assist in developing and distributing behavioral health-related informational materials to individuals and families
- Develop relationships and assist with the coordination of Special Needs Units/Member Services Department of Managed Care entities to facilitate timely and successful meetings of behavioral health needs
- Coordinate and assist in disseminating information on behavioral health best practices by State and Regional entities
- Participate in regional/statewide committees or task force meetings
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- MSW or licensed in related field with case management/behavioral experience or equivalent in related experience or training
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism in a residential community or family home
- Experience working with people with complex needs as identified in Information Sharing and Advisory Committee (ISAC) Recommendations. A minimum of five years required
- Behavioral Health Specialist License, preferred
- Act 33, 34 and FBI Clearances required
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid vehicle insurance and registration
