Our programs include an Early Intervention Program for children ages 0-3, our Anderson School, a special education school for children ages 3-12 who have complex medical needs and Woodbridge School, our early childhood education program. The Anderson School in Andover, MA provides a safe and nurturing special education school for students ages 3-12 years old with complex medical needs to maximize each student’s independence and growth. Our highly skilled, experienced and dedicated staff provide individualized instruction and support including educational and therapeutic programming. Our stimulating classroom setting includes specially designed classrooms to promote positive and active learning. High staff to student ratios including nurses in each classrooms enable our 11-month program to have non-traditional learners experience a traditional school experience. Family support is paramount including providing various on-site clinics and services to help our parents.

We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant – Substitute who will work on a day-to-day basis and is scheduled as the need arises to cover days normally worked by another Teaching Assistant.
The Teaching Assistant - Substitute works closely with the Special Education Teacher in a classroom of approximately 5 students who have multiple disabilities, moderate to severe developmental delays, and complex medical needs. Responsibilities include assisting our special education teachers and school therapists with implementation of IEP goals and objectives, as well as helping with classroom activities and maintaining a clean and neat classroom environment. This position will support the physical and minimal health needs of our students which may include lifting, positioning, seating, feeding, toileting/diapering, and mobility. The school is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm M-F and follows a school calendar, including a summer session.

Requirements
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities preferred
- Training or coursework in special education preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Program Director and Executive Director may find appropriate and acceptable
