PROGRAM: Tūtū and Me

REPORTS TO: Site Manager

JOB OVERVIEW:

To assess, monitor, document and report the needs and progress of program participants, and provide education, resources, and support to caregivers to promote optimal early learning experiences for keiki.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with TTM teaching teams to identify and refer enrolled caregivers to the caregiver education program;
  • Coordinate monthly visits at designated TTM preschool sites to recruit families and provide engaging caregiver/ keiki activities that promote teaching philosophies from the TTM caregiver education curriculum;
  • Work with the TTM Assessment Specialists to provide wrap-around caregiver support, assistance with community resources and participation in caregiver/keiki assessments;
  • Schedule and facilitate individual and small group virtual caregiver education sessions using the TTM caregiver education curriculum;
  • Assist in coordinating quarterly in-person caregiver/keiki social gatherings in the local community;
  • Obtain and maintain records of families and track their progress.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

1. Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education , Family Resources, Psychology, or related field; at least one (1) year experience working directly with young children ages birth through five; and at least one (1) year engaging in early childhood assessment; or
  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education , Family Resources, Psychology, or related field; at least two (2) years experience in early childhood assessment, and at least one (1) year experience working directly with young children ages birth through five; or
  • Proof of current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential for preschool settings and at least one (1) year experience working directly with young children ages birth through five

2. Proficient in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint;

3. Familiarity with using database such as QuickBase preferred;

4. Knowledge of the Hawaiian culture preferred;

WORK HOURS:

  • Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:00am – 3:30pm. Hours will vary by site and determined by the supervisor;
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance;
  • Some events on evenings or weekends at various times.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Program sites at locations such as community centers, schools or churches, various event sites, meeting and professional development sites;
  • Office setting;
  • Travel in program vehicle to and from program site;
  • Travel in personal vehicle to and from program sites may be required;
  • Travel to the neighbor islands is required;
  • Travel to the U.S. continent may be required.

EMPLOYMENT CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Driver’s license, a safe and responsible driving record, current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100k for bodily injury per person and $25k for property damage, access to insured vehicle.
  • Education verification, State criminal check, State and national sex registry clearance.
