Composite Technician SUMMARY
Inspect, repair and fabricate composite structures and components on company and customer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Perform composite repair, fabrication, and modification using hand tools to produce aircraft products.
- Works with composites using pre-preg doing wet lay-ups.
- Works with resins, carbon fiber, and honeycomb materials.
- Sands and grinds composite materials while wearing a full body suit.
- Correct discrepancies involving composite repairs.
- Bench assembles, and installs composite components on electrical components.
- Corrects discrepancies using information from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, or other documents as required.
- Uses manufacturing planning, written instructions, schematics, blueprints and other applicable technical data to repair, fabricate and modify composite structures.
- Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work area.
- Other duties may be assigned.
