Job Title: Sales Trainee
Location: Santa Ana, CA 92704
Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
Position Type: Temp to Hire, once Training has been completed onsite-option to work remotely for LOCAL candidates only!
Position Summary:
The Sales Trainee position is designed for individuals interested in launching a long-term career in sales. As part of our Inside Sales team or with the potential to transition into an Outside Sales role, the Sales Trainee will undergo comprehensive training over a 3-6 month period to understand the company’s products, services, and sales processes. This position provides the necessary skills and experience for the associate to choose between continuing within the inside sales team or pursuing outside sales opportunities. The primary goal is to develop future sales professionals who can build relationships with customers and help achieve sales objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in training to understand the company’s products, services, and operational processes, including how the Warehouse and Production teams work within the distribution model.
- Assist in creating awareness and demand for the company’s products and services.
- Identify potential sales opportunities and effectively communicate product benefits and solutions to meet client needs.
- Collaborate with internal personnel to ensure efforts are aligned with overall sales objectives.
- Use business directories, follow leads from existing clients, attend industry events, and participate in trade shows and conferences to identify prospective customers.
- Reach out to potential customers, provide product information, and quote competitive prices based on customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate quote documentation, ensuring correct pricing and configurations are reflected.
- Monitor market conditions, stay updated on product innovations, and track competitor products, pricing, and sales strategies.
- Consult with clients post-sale to resolve any issues, answer questions, and provide ongoing support.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
- Graduates on track to complete their degree by May/June 2025 are encouraged to apply, especially those seeking a full-time position in the future.
- Knowledge of relationship sales techniques and an ability to build lasting customer relationships.
- Ability to work in a flexible, non-structured environment and think creatively.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Word; knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, or Teams is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
