General Description:
The primary function of this position is to provide quality insurance service to clients. The Client Manager will be the day-to-day liaison between the insurance company, producer/agent, and the clients.
This client facing role has responsibilities that include managing client communications including responding to routine coverage questions, nurturing key client relationships, documentation and filing of all client related correspondence, processing policy changes including endorsements, premium audits, meet new business and renewal deadlines including obtaining quotes and binding policies, perform policy reviews for accuracy, and compliance to all legal regulations. The Client Manager will help customers understand their coverage, assist them with any claims as needed, and ensure all relevant data is properly tracked in our agency management system (EPIC).
Job Duties:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Provide consistent, accurate, and timely communication to clients through verbal and written correspondence.
- Inform and educate clients about coverage, exclusions and exposures, document electronic files accordingly.
- Maintain client files in agency management system, EPIC, and use EPIC for processing all transactions.
- Process daily incoming mail, and email/phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
- Prioritize notices of cancellations to avoid lapses in coverage.
- Assist with preparing proposals and applications, submitting to insureds and carriers (or marketing department); follow up to insure timely responses.
- Provide technical support to Producers to help clients.
- Assist clients in making appropriate coverage changes; inform and educate clients about coverages, exclusions, exposures, audits and document electronic files accordingly.
- Renew and re-market accounts as needed in conjunction with agency standards.
- Maintain client files accurately and consistently documenting conversations, sending confirmations to clients, adhering to all other automation procedures.
- Occasionally accompanies producer on prospect or client meetings.
- Orders and issues binders, certificates of insurance, policies, endorsements, and other related items; verifies their accuracy; forwards them to client with appropriate correspondence.
- Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
- Determines agency or direct billing for insurance premiums and invoices accordingly.
- Update the agency management system (EPIC) accordingly using the EPIC guidelines.
- Work independently to prioritize and ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and all other related responsibilities.
- Arrange premium finance contracts and negotiate rates when applicable.
- Gather all necessary documentation for claim reporting and report to insurance carrier. Manage ongoing claim activity with adjuster once assigned.
- Collaborate with PRS team to stay abreast of industry standards, trends, products, current rates, coverages, new insurance offerings, to assist clients, underwriters, producers/agents, and the rest of our service team with understanding and addressing the newest rules and policy updates.
- Work as liaison between partner brokers, insurers, sales teams, and clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- 7 or more years’ experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager, and currently hold a P&C license (required), Life and Health license (preferred).
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance underwriting, coverage & rate analysis.
- Knowledge of insurance coverage and an ability to communicate this clearly to clients and underwriters.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and self-manage workload.
- Proficient experience using Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a positive attitude, and willingness to help others.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable and self-motivated.
- Proficient use of Applied EPIC agency management system.
