Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) is Georgia’s largest nonprofit domestic violence organization and each year we host several impactful events to educate and engage various audiences on issues pertaining to intimate partner violence.
Position: Community Outreach Advocate

Position Description:
This professional provides support and empowerment-based advocacy for survivors of domestic violence through victim liaison services, community-based support groups, educational groups, individual advocacy/counseling sessions, referrals, 30, 60, and 90-day post-shelter discharge reviews, individual case management, and other follow-up services. This professional builds strong community partnerships and maintains ongoing collaboration with other service providers to ensure high-quality services for PADV clients. Through these collaborations, the Community Outreach Advocate will facilitate PADV having greater access to a wider range of people impacted by domestic violence but not seeking shelter services. This professional will also provide domestic violence-specific training to the community and attend trainings to gain new knowledge and skills in serving survivors of domestic violence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- MUST BE FLUENT IN SPANISH.
- Knowledge of domestic violence and its impact on victims.
- Knowledge of community services/resources and how to access them.
- Empowerment-based advocacy/counseling skills, such as assessment planning, problem-solving, crisis intervention, and supportive techniques.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse groups.
- Minimum 21 years of age with a valid drivers’ license.
- Available to work flexible, hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention to domestic violence participants enrolled in PADV’s outreach programs, including victim liaison services for Family Violence Intervention Programs.
- Provide case management and coordination for community outreach clients.
- Administer regular client follow-up services to PADV shelter and community clients.
- Maintain familiarity of and build new partnerships with community resources in Fulton and Gwinnett counties.
- Research and build relationships with services that are specific to the needs of DV victims.
- Represent PADV at Task Force, Fatality Review, and other community collaborative meetings.
- Participate in both virtual and in-person public speaking engagements, enhance community awareness, establish a network of referral agencies, and develop relationships with and provide Domestic Violence & Teen Dating Violence prevention education to youth, youth serving organizations, parents, and adults.
- Conduct both virtual and in-person domestic violence and dating violence presentations at volunteer trainings and throughout the community.
- Work with middle schools, high schools, colleges, and universities to build relationships and continue to expand the dating violence prevention program.
- Facilitate Healthy Relationships curriculum in the community, local schools, colleges, and universities.
- Assist with annual Teen Summit planning.
- Serve as a liaison to local area schools and community partners.

- Provide individual client advocacy and case management.
- Refer appropriately and work cooperatively with criminal justice, legal, medical, and mental health professionals and other community agencies who also serve crime survivors.
- Participate in supervisory, team, and all-staff meetings.
- Represent PADV on committees as requested and approved by PADV.
- Research and maintain current statistical data on domestic and dating violence.
- Assume responsibility for professional development by attending relevant and available training workshops, seminars, agency staff meetings, and trainings.
- Provide professional documentation of services provided, including statistical information & safety planning and maintains case records utilizing CJCC Standards as a primary benchmark in CaseWorthy.
- Commit to the principle of confidentiality as it relates to client information.
- Follow agency/contract/grant/licensing policies and procedures.
- Respond to agency needs as established with the VP of Prevention & Outreach in line with program assignments, abilities, and community needs.
- Provide backup support to the communication office including but not limited to; answers crisis hotline calls, document shelter activities in logbook in the CaseWorthy database, monitor housekeeping chores and daily activities of residents, provide conflict resolution assistance to shelter residents, respond to client needs in-house and on the crisis line, and conduct residential intakes, exit interviews, and safety planning.
