Job Overview
Partnership Employment has partnered with a Fortune 500 company in Irving, TX and we are seeking a high-volume Payroll Specialist with 1 -2 years of experience for a contract-to-hire job opportunity. This role will be hybrid with M-W in office and working remote on Thurs/Fri. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in payroll software and accounting principles.
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, deductions, and benefits administration.
- Maintain employee records in the HRIS system, including personal information, tax forms, and benefit selections.
- Will support internal and external payroll audit requests
- Will assist in Payroll monthly/quarterly close process
- Will assist in Payroll year-end close process
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Process miscellaneous off-cycle checks including final paychecks, severance etc.
- Resolve internal/external employee inquiries in a timely manner
- Stay knowledgeable on Payroll Industry Updates
- Will demonstrate excellent customer service when communicating to employees
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.
- You have experience using Workday or similar software experience
- You are able to prioritize multiple projects, goals and deadlines
- You have an understanding of payroll related deductions (Commuter Benefits, FSA, ESPP, 401k contributions, Stock transactions etc.)
- You have an understanding of FSLA rules
- You are knowledgeable about regulations for multi-state employers
- You are team oriented and able to work with employees at all levels
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You have strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
- You are able to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality
- Strong understanding of technical accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
