Job Title: Program Assistant
REPORTS TO: Director of Youth Programs
Job Type: In-Person
Part time 5-15 hours per week, Non-Exempt
Wage: $17 per hour
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The Partnership for Ontario County is a local nonprofit that has supported the Finger Lakes since 1998. The Partnership offers programs and services to strengthen the community and address the needs of individuals and families. Programs include the Community Support Center, Epic Zone Youth Clubhouses in Geneva and Bloomfield, Ontario County Youth Court, County Community Liaison Team, Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, Suicide Prevention Coalition, Veterans Coalition, Leadership Ontario, and leads a monthly popup food pantry. Our team is composed of passionate and dedicated individuals working together to make a meaningful impact in our community.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Youth Court is a diversion program for first-time, youthful offenders to provide an alternative to traditional juvenile justice and school discipline. The program assistant will work with Probation, schools, magistrates, and other law enforcement to intervene in early antisocial and delinquent behaviors and reduce future incidences. The program assistant will work with respondents, parents, and student peer court volunteers, utilizing a restorative justice model to reduce recidivism and empower youth to develop their strengths and leadership skills. The Program assistant will assist the Raise the Age Coordinator and Program Director with a variety of office and data related tasks to support the overall Youth Court Program. The program assistant will report to the Director of Youth Programs.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the Youth Court staff at youth court hearings with youth member volunteers and respondents.
2. Support recruitment efforts of youth court members and assist with 20-hour training curriculum.
3. Plan, create, and distribute a monthly newsletter.
4. Maintaining social media pages to help increase outreach and engagement.
5. Updating the youth court website monthly
6. Creating flyers or other types of media for promoting planned youth court events
7. Updating weekly attendance and maintaining excel platforms.
8. Assisting with community outreach and tabling events
9. Filing important documents and assisting with maintaining organization within the office space
10. Assisting with the necessary prep for court cases.
11. As part of a strong collective team member, all employees of the Partnership may occasionally assist with other programs as needed.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Youth Program Assistant:
1. Associates Degree or equivalent work experience preferred; High school Diploma or GED Required
2. Previous work experience with youth ages 12-17 including demonstrated ability working with parents, and community leaders supporting youth preferred.
3. Minimum of two years of experience with project or program coordination. Ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills..
4. Must be highly team oriented with experience with staff and program oversight. Understanding of team and group dynamics helpful.
5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Experience creating flyers and designing social media posts for digital marketing.
7. Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and data entry to collate data and reports. Familiarity and comfort with reporting goals and outcomes.
8. Travel required.
9. Schedule flexibility required. Weekend hours are occasionally needed.

This is a grant funded position contingent on continued grant funding.
