Partnership for Strong Families, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Kinship Navigator to join our team and help strengthen kinship care placements. This role involves working closely with kinship caregivers—relatives and non-relatives alike—to ensure the stability and well-being of children in their care. This position reports to the Kinship Program Manager.
What You’ll Do:
- Conducts kinship searches to locate possible relative and non-relative placements for children in care by referral and identifying child in licensed care including documenting all efforts.
- Assess and connect families to essential community resources and services to stabilize placements and prevent disruptions.
- Collaborate with child welfare professionals and community partners to address the needs of families in crisis.
- Provide consultation and advocacy for kinship caregivers, assisting with access to benefits, support groups, and licensing requirements.
- Facilitate communication and problem-solving to help families overcome barriers and access necessary services.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or closely related field or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience relevant experience in the field of child protection preferred.
- Motivational Interviewing Trained preferred.
- Child Protection Professional Certification preferred
The Ideal Candidate has:
- Strong knowledge of local services, family dynamics, and child welfare practices.
- Excellent communication skills with a solution-focused, flexible, and collaborative approach.
- A clear understanding of kinship care rule and Guardian Assistance Program (GAP) requirements.
- Ability to build effective relationships with families and community partners.
- Strong decision-making abilities with the confidence to act decisively in complex situations.
- Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience in social work, child protection, or a related field is preferred.

Salary Range: $20.44 to $22.48 an hour
