Overview
To provide high-level support for day-to-day PC operations, production operations support, systems and telecommunications support. Supports and leads all help desk functions with PC troubleshooting, performing software updates and maintaining the inventory of PC’s and network systems hardware. Serves as the primary, secondary, and/or tertiary level escalation point for desktop, VoIP, A/V, and connectivity support to internal customers/end users. Supports IT Operations efforts in the building, implementation, testing, and deployment of new servers, software, systems, network, and security changes. Primary operations support to production environment, maintains necessary skills related to production support and functions as on-call support as required. Learns advanced operations procedures and troubleshooting techniques from Director of Network Operations and documents them.
Responsibilities
Level I/II/III Service Desk Support:
- Serves as tier I/II/III support tech for all PC and phone issues. Provides prompt support to end users on PC, phone, A/V, connectivity, and other application issues.
- Fields incoming help requests from end-users via service desk, telephone, and email in a courteous manner.
- Prioritizes and schedules problems. Escalates problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
- Records, tracks, and documents the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
- Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
- Accesses software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the internet to aid in problem resolution.
- Identifies and learns appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
- Documents all operations procedures related to daily operations, telephone systems, and network, and updates the documentation as changes occur. Assists in documenting network and systems policy and procedures.
- Coordinates and performs Active Directory User Management. Performs AD User and OU moves, adds, and changes.
- Performs Exchange Mailbox & Distribution List creation, deletion, archival, functionality, and security tasks.
- Manages, maintains, and performs Windows file/folder level security tasks.
- Carries out audits on file systems and folder permissions.
- Sets up and supports company-issued and BYOD mobility devices (iPads, smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.).
- Performs mobility device management tasks via Maas 360 in accordance with PHC security and compliance policies.
- Sets up and supports Virtual Desktops in VMWare and Citrix Desktop Director.
- Sets up and supports teleworker deployments and systems.
- Supports and maintains Enterprise PGP Encryption system. Provides deployment direction for Tech I/IIs.
- Manages Juniper VPN access user and policy creation.
- Maintains strong knowledge of the PHC VoIP telecommunication infrastructure. Creates phones, accounts, and ACD lines; runs reports; monitors phone system performance; escalates issues related to phone system to external vendor and gets them fixed. Able to restart the telephone system components in the correct order promptly. Creates and maintains the documentation necessary for the phone system changes and upkeep.
- Manages and maintains Enterprise Mobility Management System (Maas 360). Provides direction and guidance for deployment and utilization for Tech I/IIs.
- Manages, maintains, and deploys Zscaler Web Proxy settings.
- Researches software for IT and other departments.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Periodically works with IT staff on assigned projects.
- Serves as backup to VoIP Administrator, able to service Call Center Systems and administer users.
- Periodically provides additional support for A/V conferences and setup.
- Available by cell phone to assist in coordination of IT outages 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s technical degree preferred; candidate must have worked in IT environment for at least five (5) years in a similar capacity. Familiarity with healthcare IT is a big plus. Advanced working knowledge and troubleshooting skills in Windows (8/7/XP) desktop environments, LAN connectivity, MS Office, Outlook, Anti-Spam, Anti-Virus, Spyware/malware are a must. Prior working experience in Active Directory, Exchange 2013/2010 environment, DHCP/DNS, VDI (Citrix Xendesktop or VMWare).
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
COMTIA A , MCDST, or other equivalent desktop tech certification is required currently or within six (6) months of hire. Highly proficient in learning new hardware and application software. Detail oriented and strong in analytical and interpersonal skills. Valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

Ability to work under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment. Diplomacy and tact in handling user software and PC problems. Willingness to take initial training and to continue to learn new software, databases, and technologies.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
Ability to use a computer keyboard. Hours are typically 8 am to 5 pm. More than 50% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. When required, ability to move, carry, or lift objects of varying sizes, weighing up to 35 lbs.

$40.94 - $51.18
