Finance Associate

Partnership with Children, founded in 1908, is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering students to reach their full potential and succeed in school, society, and life. We work to provide school-wide critical social and emotional counseling services, as well as family and community outreach in New York City public schools most impacted by the effects of poverty and trauma. We are one of the city’s largest providers of community school programs and school-based mental health services working to systematically build schools that are safe, and conductive to learning. In addition, PWC recently merged with the Center for Arts Education (CAE), an organization that has delivered high-quality arts education programs that nurtures the development of social and emotional learning in NYC public school students as a core part of their pre-K to 12th grade education. PWC and CAE’s programs and approach are rooted in an understanding of the impact of poverty and trauma on children, a steadfast commitment to antiracism, and expertise in children’s social-emotional wellbeing.

PwC is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team. The position will provide a rich experience and exposure to nonprofit finance and accounting systems and processes. Specifically, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for monthly banks reconciliations, and assisting with preparation of government claims, recording cash receipts from private donations, preparing and maintaining supporting documents for audit purposes, and executing special projects and will report to the VP of Finance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for approval and review
• Record Monthly journal entries as needed
• Record revenue and receivables for contract claims
• Record cash receipts batches for donations and maintain documentation for audit purposes
• Assist with other monthly grant billings as needed
• Provide administrative support to the Finance team as needed.
• Participate in gathering documents for various external audits as necessary.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience using Fund EZ a plus
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Ability to ensure confidentiality and a sense of humor a must
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field, preferred
  
  

Schedule: Flexible Hybrid Schedule with Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office (onboarding and orientation will be in person for first two weeks)

Salary And Benefits

Salary range is $45,000 to $55,000. All full-time employees receive an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k retirement plan with employer match, life insurance, Flexible spending Account/FSA, Commuter benefits, and twenty four days paid annual leave per year, plus four summer Fridays and 12 other paid holidays.
