Assistant General Counsel

Ensures that the Company operates in full compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Supports the Chief Legal Officer in handling legal matters on behalf of the company. Ensures that all Company service and operating standards are consistently met.

• Oversees subpoena responses, Workman’s Compensation disputed claims, insured and uninsured litigation, discovery responses, insurance coverage, claims made against the Company, including regular communication and requests of outside counsel.
• Prepares reports of pending litigation to PGCB and Management.
• Advises Human Resources on employee matters and compliance on employment law matters.
• Negotiates, drafts and reviews contracts on behalf of the company.
• Advises management on proposed actions and decisions to ensure that such actions are taken in a legally sound manner.
• Works with Risk Management Department to address matters to reduce the risk of injuries to employees and patrons.
• Manages area of responsibility effectively within budgetary guidelines by monitoring and controlling operational and payroll costs.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

• Juris Doctorate degree and Admission to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania required. Broad legal knowledge and experience in all areas of the law.
• Must have excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as solid negotiating skills, and strong platform skills.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and through written communications.
• 3-5 years experience in a law firm, another company or government agency.
